Dr. Aayushi Verma is an Assistant Professor, School of Creative Arts & Design, University of Engineering and Technology Roorkee. She has awarded her Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 2019 from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. Her Ph.D. research focused on craft documentation and new design possibilities in Saharanpur woodcraft industry. Her areas of interest are History of Art, Handicrafts, Design Innovation, Visual Narratives, and Painting. She has received junior research and a senior research fellowship from UGC, India. She is having more than 6 years of teaching and research experience and has many research publications to credit including Springer and Sage publication. She has previously taught at School of Fine Arts, Noida International University, Greater Noida. She has participated in many national and international conferences/seminar/workshops. She has organized and conducted various academic workshops that focus on crafts, craftsmanship and creative culture industries. Her area of expertise is miniature paintings, folk tribal art and, handicrafts etc. She is also involved in writing for craft practices. She has chaired a session in International Conference on “Performing and Visual Arts 2018” organized by The Cultural Centre, University of Malaya on 9th to 11th, January, 2018. She is also an active reviewer of various esteemed Journals like Journal of Asian Ethnicity, Tylor & Francis, Journal of Heritage Management, Sage etc.
